Job Description

Patient Financial Specialist Dayton Area Nationally growing hospital group has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Financial Counselor to provide financial advice and assistance to patients. The Financial Counselor acts as a liaison between patients' insurance companies, coordinating payment and answering questions from both parties.

Enters patient information into the system and ensures accurate factsheet, armband, labels, etc. are generated Accurately completes patient Intake Assessment and Physician Order for billing compliance Reconciles midnight census to ensure accuracy in the patient accounting system Reviews insurance benefits and financial obligations with all new admissions Maintains updates to accounting system with additional / revised patient information Facilitates non-covered day discussion with Utilization Management and patients Initiates point of care collections with patients
Financial Counselor Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required Customer service experience in a similar field (healthcare experience preferred) Experience with patient accounting systems required Knowledge of third-party payers, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements
