Position Description:
Duties :
Promotes and maintains positive and effective working relationships and promotes good public relationships as a representative of Licking County Government. Assists in the daily fiscal operations of the Board of County Commissioners. Reviews and monitors departmental purchase orders for available balances, accuracy, and compliance with county purchasing policies. Assists departments with purchase order requests, revisions, and closings. Processes invoices for payment and verifies appropriate approvals and supporting documentation. Maintains accurate records of payments made to vendors and receipts received by the Commissioners' Office. Assists in preparing the weekly Board of Commissioners resolutions involving financial transactions, appropriations, transfers, contracts, grants, purchase orders, and other fiscal matters. Coordinates with the County Auditor's Office to ensure timely processing of financial documents. Maintains electronic and paper fiscal records in accordance with county record retention requirements. Assists with preparation of budget reports, expenditure summaries, and other financial information for the County Administrator and Fiscal Specialist. Assists in monitoring departmental budgets and identifying purchase orders that require modification or closure. Reconciles financial records and researches discrepancies as requested. Assists with year-end fiscal activities and budget preparation. Prepares spreadsheets, correspondence, reports, and other documents using Microsoft Office applications. Provides courteous assistance to department directors, elected officials, vendors, and the public regarding routine fiscal matters. Maintains confidentiality of financial, personnel, and other sensitive information. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Brief Description:
The Fiscal Associate provides financial and administrative support to the Board of County Commissioners by assisting with the day-to-day fiscal operations of the Commissioners' Office. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring purchase orders and expenditures, processing invoices and payments, preparing weekly resolutions and financial reports, and assisting with budget tracking. The Fiscal Associate works closely with the Fiscal Specialist, County Administrator, County Auditor, and department personnel to ensure accurate financial transactions and efficient fiscal operations.
Job Prerequisites:
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related program. Two years of related experience in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, accounts payable, governmental finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications): Ability to perform assigned fiscal and administrative duties accurately, maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively, and work independently while supporting multiple priorities. Valid Ohio driver's license.
