Job Description
Financial Processes Officer (P00084)
You will be working within a team to deliver a broad range of financial activities relating to banking, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. Your area of focus will be banking, but you will work with the other Financial Processes Officers to support other areas when required to meet the team's objectives.
You will ensure that income is allocated to the appropriate accounts using the Council's financial system for your investigations. You will import and process bank files, files from different portals and cash and cheques via the financial system. You will also be responsible for answering queries either by phone, email, or face to face from colleagues across the Council about banking/income related matters.
We are looking for someone who has previous experience of working in a financial environmental, excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to handle face-to-face and telephone queries. The ability to prioritise tasks to meet competing deadlines and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. The post holder will have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
The post holder will be expected to attend the office at least one day a week, dependent on service needs.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
