Why Global Business Lending Risk at GM Financial? The Global Business Lending Risk team at GM Financial operates on multiple fronts. First, the team is dedicated to helping decision makers navigate lending risks by providing insights on a wide-ranging variety of topics such as economics and performance trends across markets in North and South America. Second, the team manages the retail and lease lifecycle on business borrowers by monitoring trends on customer behaviors, industry practices, and various other attributes related to the portfolio. Third, the team is engaged in working with operations and IT to implement strategic initiatives that provide value to customers and efficiencies to the enterprise. Working in this environment requires attention to detail and accuracy due to the evolving nature of the auto industry and the strict financial regulations. About the role The Manager - Commercial Modeling and Advanced Analytics is responsible for all aspects of non-general population portfolio management and risk mitigation. This role interfaces with Senior Management, Sales, Legal and Executive Leadership to develop appropriate corrective actions plans that result in minimal losses to GM Financial. Performs research, analysis, and modeling on organizational data Assists in analyzing key metrics and performing data analysis Builds technical knowledge to support research and analytic responsibilities including advanced techniques and algorithms Conducts research projects, incorporate project design, data collection and analysis, summarizing findings, developing recommendations and effectively communicating to leadership the impact to the business Develops and applies algorithms or models to key business metrics with the goal of improving operations or answering business questions Presents findings and analysis for use in decision making Ensures that the delivered products meet the business needs of the company Partners with and provide recommendations to business leadership on the appropriate application of analytics to business strategies and effectively communicate analysis and implications to senior leadership Prioritizes tasks and meets project deadlines in a fast paced work environment. Education & Work Experience 2+ years Statistician or similar quantitative field required Master's Degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or similar quantitative field required Additional Knowledge and Skills Working effectively within an AI enabled environment: Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection
