Controller Salary Range:
$150,000•$175,000 Job Summary The Director of Financial Reporting will lead the internal and external financial reporting function for Prairie Operating Co. This role is responsible for the preparation, accuracy, and timely filing of all SEC financial statements (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and/or investor reporting packages, ensuring strict adherence to
US GAAP, SEC
regulations, and industry-specific accounting frameworks (ASC 932). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Fully responsible for the end-to-end preparation and submission of all external financial reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations and US GAAP. Draft and maintain comprehensive disclosure schedules, financial statements, footnoted disclosures, and Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A). Coordinate the collection and inclusion of oil and gas reserves disclosure data (supplemental ASC 932 information) in partnership with internal reservoir engineers and third-party reserve auditors. Oversee the interactive data tagging (XBRL / Inline XBRL) process for all SEC filings. Manage reporting for debt offerings, equity issuances, credit facility amendments, and technical debt modification/extinguishment analyses. Research, document, and implement technical accounting positions for complex transactions, including acquisitions/divestitures, derivative instruments, and share-based compensation. Special projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting Quorum/Bolo/Other O&G ERPs SEC Filing Solution like Workiva, Merrill Bridge, etc. Advanced Excel/MS Office skills CPA preferred Experience 8-12+ years of progressive financial accounting and reporting experience. Significant experience in the Oil & Gas sector (E&P, midstream, or oilfield services) is required, including familiarity with ASC 932. Mix of Big 4 public accounting audit experience and corporate SEC reporting experience at a publicly traded energy company preferred.
