Description We are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to support insurance-related financial reporting activities in Hartford, Connecticut. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a senior-level candidate who brings deep expertise in statutory reporting for Property & Casualty operations and can deliver accurate, timely financial statements. The role requires strong judgment, a sharp analytical mindset, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced reporting environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and review of statutory financial reports for Property & Casualty insurance entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
- Oversee the completion of Yellow Book filings and related annual statement materials within established deadlines.
- Manage reporting processes using annual statement software such as ORG or comparable platforms to produce complete and reliable submissions.
- Analyze financial data, identify reporting issues, and resolve discrepancies through detailed review and collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Provide manager-level oversight for reporting deliverables, maintaining high standards for quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
- Support annual and periodic financial reporting activities, including documentation, reconciliations, and submission readiness.
- Apply strong attention to detail when reviewing schedules, disclosures, and supporting workpapers to ensure reporting integrity.
- Adapt quickly to new tools, requirements, and reporting priorities while maintaining continuity across critical financial reporting cycles. Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in financial reporting, with substantial exposure to insurance industry reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated background in Property & Casualty statutory reporting is required.
- Hands-on experience preparing Yellow Books and related annual statement filings.
- Proficiency with ORG software or similar annual statement reporting systems.
- Previous experience operating at the manager level or in a more senior financial reporting leadership capacity.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret financial results and investigate variances effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, well-supported reporting.
- Familiarity with annual financial reporting, SEC financial reporting, EPS, and broader financial reporting practices is strongly preferred.
