Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Repossession Specialist to join our dynamic team. Duties Initiate and coordinate repossession activities for delinquent accounts, ensuring adherence to consumer protection laws and industry regulations. Communicate effectively with clients, debtors, and third-party agencies via phone and written correspondence to negotiate repayment plans or asset recovery solutions. Conduct thorough account analysis using Excel data analysis tools and accounting software to identify outstanding balances, account discrepancies, and potential recovery opportunities. Maintain detailed records of all repossession efforts, including documentation of debtor interactions, legal notices, and asset retrieval processes. Ensure compliance with financial regulatory standards during all collection and repossession procedures, handling confidential information with integrity. Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable related to repossession activities, ensuring accurate account reconciliation and revenue cycle management. Utilize telemarketing techniques and phone etiquette skills to follow up with debtors, schedule appointments, and facilitate smooth communication throughout the recovery process. Qualifications Proven experience in debt collection, consumer protection laws, or repossession operations within a financial or banking environment. Strong knowledge of financial concepts such as debits & credits, revenue cycle management, and account reconciliation. Excellent negotiation skills combined with effective phone communication and customer service abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) along with familiarity with accounting software and financial software platforms. Understanding of industry knowledge of financial regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices related to repossession and collections account management. Ability to analyze complex data sets using Excel for account analysis and decision-making purposes. High level of professionalism when handling confidential information while maintaining compliance with all relevant legal requirements. Strong math skills for accurate calculations related to account balances, interest accruals, or payment arrangements.
