Job Description

General Summary Member Services Representatives , working in a call center environment, interact with the members to deliver information and answer account questions and solve problems. Their main aim is to project the professional organization image through telephone, face-to-face and e-mail interaction. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Handle all calls that come in the call center in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of the various departments and how it relates to members accounts.
  • Extensive knowledge of credit union products and services.
  • Responsible for exceptional member service to both internal and external members.
  • Handle incoming requests from member and staff by phone, e-mail, mail or fax.
  • Maintaining accurate records and confidential information.
  • Cross-sell products and services that would best fit members needs.
  • Assist members with their online banking.
  • Researching and solving both routine and complex member questions, problems and complaints concerning accounts.
  • Obtaining and evaluating all relevant data to handle complaints and inquiries or appropriately placing that member with the correct department that can assist their needs.
  • Maintain records and training material to assist you with your job responsibilities.
  • Assist with filing of all new membership account forms.
  • Open new membership accounts and add new products.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must have a general knowledge of the computer system and be able to operate terminals for all transactions. The ability to perform with accuracy and speed. Must be familiar with all credit union policies pertaining to share accounts and be able to interpret and explain credit union policies and transactions posted to member accounts. Must be alert, neat, punctual, positively motivated and cooperative. Ability to work independently. Must possess a commitment to rendering the best possible service to all members and to maintaining a professional, yet friendly, atmosphere in all credit union branches and offices. Must be Bondable Physical Requirements Moderate physical exertion. Usually requires handling moderate weight materials up to 20lbs; or includes standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, twisting; or requires repetitive and sustained exercise of fine motor skills; or requires remaining in a constant position; or requires close visual effort of a straining nature; in excess of 50% of the time. Education and Background High School Diploma or equivalent experience required Customer service in retail or financial institution preferred
