Job Description

Position Summary The Student Account Officer is responsible for the administration and management of student financial accounts, including billing, payment processing, account reconciliation, and communication with students and families. This role requires a strong understanding of customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to explain financial information clearly and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain student accounts, including billing, tuition, fees, and payment plans. Post payments and adjustments to student accounts in a timely and accurate manner Respond to student inquiries regarding billing statements, payment deadlines, account balances, and policies. Process refunds and adjustments in compliance with institutional and federal guidelines Coordinate collection efforts for overdue accounts and work with students on payment arrangements. Collaborate with the Financial Aid Office to ensure proper application of aid and disbursements. Support student registration and graduation processes by ensuring account compliance. Monitor and report on account status and assist in financial reporting as needed. Maintain detailed and organized account records for audit and compliance purposes. Provide excellent customer service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Qualifications :
Preferred:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred Knowledge of FERPA and financial compliance policies is preferred. Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., Jenzabar) is strongly preferred.
Required:
1-2 years of experience in a business office or student accounts setting (higher education experience a plus) Proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. $42,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
