Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Representative Payee Assistant, where you'll make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with all different types of disabilities. Creating budgets, managing checking accounts, debit cards, paying bills, and responding to client calls and emails in a compassionate, kind, and sometimes firm manner. Explaining Social Security, other program rules, and office policies to the degree the individual client can understand. Help to ensure that our clients stay within the rules of their Social Security disability program and insurance benefits so they remain intact. Doing some investigative research into prior debt and law infractions, to advocate on their behalf. Work with banking, federal, and state agencies to ensure regulatory compliance. Your proactive approach will help safeguard client funds, prevent fraud, and promote financial stability for those in need. Current shift 8-4 Monday - Thursday. Friday's off. All legal holidays paid. PTO offered. Duties Assist clients with the management of their benefit payments, ensuring accurate data entry and record keeping using RPM Industry Software, Microsoft Word, Excel and One Note. Conduct thorough client communication via phone calls and emails, providing clear explanation on financial processes and addressing inquiries efficiently. Monitor debit card transactions for signs of fraud or suspicious activity, applying industry knowledge of financial regulations to prevent misuse of funds. Maintain detailed documentation of all client interactions, payment activities, and incident reports to ensure transparency and accountability. Participate in ongoing training related to industry specific compliance regulations, financial services, fraud prevention techniques, and regulatory updates to stay current with industry best practices. Experience Proven experience in customer service roles within call centers or financial services environments, demonstrating excellent phone communication skills, message taking, and handling difficult calls while implementing professional and kind boundaries while maintaining a calm tone and respectful words. Familiarity with banking operations, data entry procedures, high attention to details and accuracy, and financial compliance regulations is highly desirable. Can multi-task, prioritize work based on deadlines, and self motivated to work independently, but still work well with others to collaborate on the needs of the office and clients. Previous work experience involving HIPPA regulations, and privacy practices a definite plus. Some knowledge of Social Security disability programs increases how quickly you can transition into working more independently in your role. Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, One Note) combined with fast and accurate typing skills, and numeric key pad supports efficient workflow management. Experience with scanning documents, email, saving files, electronic faxing, processing mail, paper filing, and doing business errands. Must be able to pass a criminal back ground check and a caregiver back ground check prior to hire. Pay:
$16.80 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 per week
