You are a strategic and detail-oriented leader with deep expertise in BSA/AML and financial crime investigations. You excel at leading high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, and ensuring regulatory compliance while effectively navigating complex and evolving financial crime risks. With strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, you foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, partnering across the organization to protect the Credit Union and support its compliance objectives.WHAT YOU'LL DO
Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of AML investigators providing guidance and support in daily operations. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team productivity and professional growth. Oversee investigations of suspicious activity and transactions to ensure compliance with BSA/AML regulations and internal policies. Monitor and analyze trends in suspicious activity, adjusting investigation strategies as needed. Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of regulatory reports Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). Review and approve investigation reports and other relevant documentation for quality and regulatory compliance. Provide guidance and oversight to first-line teams on BSA/AML processes and controls, relating to potentially suspicious activity. Collaborate with other second-line teams to assess and mitigate AML risks. Maintain current awareness of the regulatory environment and emerging financial crime risks that may impact the Credit Union's products/services and BSA/AML controls. Develop and deliver training programs for the Investigations Team to ensure proficiency in current AML regulations and investigation techniques. Promote continuous professional development and knowledge sharing within the team. Serve as a point of contact for regulators and auditors and communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders regarding AML matters. Represent the Investigations Team in internal and external meetings and forums. Prepare and generate reports as required by management and regulatory authorities. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the Investigations Team and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.QUALIFICIATIONS AND PREFERENCES
Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice or a related field, or equivalent related work experience. required 5+ years in a financial institution, with a strong focus on financial crime compliance. requiredWHY JOIN US
