Prior Authorization Request packets . Review beneficiary information, DCID, diagnosis and procedure codes, tooth numbers, quadrants, clinical narratives, radiographs, and supporting documentation. Prepare Waiver and ICF authorization requests using the appropriate provider information and NPI. Coordinate anesthesia authorization requests for general anesthesia and deep sedation cases. Submit authorization requests through the required DC Medicaid/utilization management channels. Confirm receipt and track every submitted authorization. Maintain an accurate authorization tracking system including submission dates, status, authorization numbers, approval dates, expiration dates, and scheduled treatment dates. Follow up on pending authorizations and promptly address returned or denied requests. Correct and resubmit requests requiring additional documentation. Verify Medicaid eligibility and appropriate program enrollment. Monitor authorization expiration dates. Coordinate approved sedation cases with the treatment schedule. Work systematically through the practice's existing authorization backlog. Provide weekly reporting regarding submissions, approvals, denials, outstanding authorizations, and turnaround times. Front Desk & Patient Coordination Answer and route incoming calls. Communicate with group homes, caregivers, guardians, and care coordinators. Check patients in and out. Schedule and confirm appointments. Coordinate transportation-dependent appointments and group-home scheduling. Maintain accurate patient demographics, insurance information, and guardian/contact information. Scan and properly file documentation, consents, and correspondence. Maintain recall and reappointment lists. Assist with patient payments and daily reconciliation when applicable. Support billing staff with documentation and claim follow-up. Help maintain a professional, welcoming, and accessible front office.
