Job Description

Northeast Florida Endocrine and Diabetes Associates is seeking a dependable, detail oriented Medical Insurance Follow Up Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle Department. This position is responsible for following up on outstanding insurance claims, resolving claim denials, researching payment issues, and working directly with insurance companies to obtain proper reimbursement. Pay will be based on the candidate's level of medical billing and insurance follow up experience. Job Responsibilities Follow up on outstanding insurance claims with commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care payers Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, and unpaid claims Contact insurance companies by phone or through payer portals regarding claim status Submit corrected claims, reconsiderations, and appeals when appropriate Review explanations of benefits and remittance advices Identify payment discrepancies and take appropriate action Document all account activity accurately in the patient accounting system Work assigned accounts daily while meeting productivity expectations Communicate professionally with insurance representatives and internal staff Assist with special projects and additional Revenue Cycle duties as assigned Qualifications Previous medical insurance follow up, medical billing, or accounts receivable experience preferred Knowledge of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid insurance guidelines preferred Experience working insurance denials and outstanding claims Understanding of medical terminology, CPT, ICD 10, and insurance claim processing Strong analytical and problem solving skills Excellent attention to detail Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple accounts efficiently Experience with electronic medical record and practice management systems preferred Dependable attendance and punctuality are required Schedule Full time Monday through Friday Experience Medical insurance follow up: Preferred Medical billing or accounts receivable: Preferred Denial management or appeals: Preferred Medical office experience: Preferred This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, has strong attention to detail, and is motivated to help maximize insurance reimbursement while supporting the Revenue Cycle Department.
