Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support the administrative functions of the medical office, ensuring smooth operations and excellent patient service. Your expertise in medical coding, billing processes, and healthcare claims management will be essential to accurately process medical records, insurance claims, and financial transactions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment while developing your skills in medical office administration and healthcare documentation. Duties Manage medical billing processes using billing software and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, ensuring accurate submission of claims. Review and code medical procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding standards for precise reimbursement. Verify insurance coverage, process health insurance claims, and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to optimize collections. Maintain and organize medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and proper documentation standards. Assist with patient scheduling, check-in/check-out procedures, and respond to patient inquiries with excellent customer service skills. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of diagnoses using ICD coding and proper coding of procedures. Support the administrative team by preparing reports, managing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting with knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare claims processing. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and familiarity with billing software and EMR/EHR systems. Knowledge of medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG
classifications, and ICD coding standards. Understanding of health insurance policies, benefits verification, and medical collection procedures. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and data entry tasks. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, insurance companies, and team members. Prior experience with healthcare claims management systems is highly desirable. Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
