This role is responsible for prospecting, evaluating client risk, marketing accounts to carriers, presenting solutions, closing business, and supporting retention and account-rounding opportunities. Core Responsibilities
  • Prospect new commercial insurance opportunities through referrals, networking, community involvement, and direct business development.
  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline and consistently meet new business goals.
  • Conduct risk reviews and identify appropriate coverage solutions for commercial clients.
  • Gather underwriting information and prepare clean, accurate submissions for carriers, wholesalers, and MGAs.
  • Market accounts, negotiate terms, compare options, and present recommendations to business clients.
  • Sell and advise on key commercial coverages including Property, General Liability, Business Auto, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella/Excess, Inland Marine, Professional Liability, Cyber, and Bonds.
  • Coordinate binding and implementation while partnering with account management or service staff to ensure a strong client experience.
  • Support renewals, account rounding, cross-sell opportunities, and accurate documentation in agency systems, CRM, and carrier portals. Qualifications
  • Active Florida 2-20 or 4-40 General Lines license required.
  • 2+ years of commercial lines insurance sales, production, or business development experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial property and casualty coverages, policy structure, and underwriting requirements.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, generate new business, and close commercial accounts.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, organization, and follow-through.
  • Proficiency with agency management systems, CRMs, Microsoft Office, and carrier portals. Preferred Profile & Success Measures What Success Looks Like
  • Existing book of business or strong referral network.
  • Experience with small-business, middle-market, or specialty commercial accounts.
  • Knowledge of Florida risks in construction, real estate, hospitality, transportation, professional services, or light manufacturing.
  • CIC, CPCU, CRM, or another industry designation is a plus.
  • Consistent new business production and healthy pipeline activity.
  • Strong client retention and account-rounding results.
  • Accurate, submission-ready underwriting packages with minimal rework.
  • Professional, consultative client service from prospecting through renewal.
