Job Description
Sales Producer Farmers Insurance - 3.5 San Antonio, TX Job Details Full-time $36,000 - $56,000 a year 16 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Work from home Flexible schedule Qualifications Life Insurance License Spanish Property & Casualty License Prospecting CRM system proficiency Insurance sales Time management Client interaction via phone calls Full Job Description We're looking for someone who wants to grow into a stronger salesperson, communicator, professional, and person while helping the people we serve protect what matters most to them. Behind every policy is a person, a story, and something worth protecting. That means we take production seriously, but we never forget the human being on the other side of the conversation. We believe great sales comes from curiosity, honesty, consistency, courage, and the ability to truly listen. This is a performance-driven sales role. You will have goals. You will hear "no." You will be challenged. You will be coached. But you will also be given the opportunity to learn, develop your skills, increase your income, take on greater responsibility, and build a meaningful career in insurance. Who We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you: Are self-motivated and don't need someone constantly standing over you to take action. Want to continually improve rather than become comfortable or stagnant. Are coachable and can receive constructive feedback without taking it personally. Are willing to practice, role-play, learn from mistakes, and try again. Have the courage to make calls, ask questions, ask for the business, and hear "no." Are competitive with yourself and motivated by measurable goals. Take responsibility for your results rather than looking for excuses. Are naturally curious about people and enjoy learning their stories. Can listen before jumping immediately into a sales pitch. Treat people with dignity and respect regardless of whether they ultimately purchase from us. Believe that doing what is right for the customer matters more than simply making the largest possible sale. Want your work to mean something while still being financially rewarded for excellent performance. Enjoy being part of a team where people encourage one another, challenge one another, and celebrate each other's wins. You do not need to walk through the door knowing everything. We can teach insurance products, systems, processes, scripts, and sales techniques. What is much harder to teach is character, curiosity, work ethic, humility, resilience, and the desire to become better. What You'll Do As an Insurance Sales Producer, you will help grow the agency by developing new relationships and strengthening existing ones.
Your responsibilities will include:
Connecting with prospective customers through inbound leads, outbound calls, referrals, networking, community relationships, and other approved lead sources. Having genuine conversations to understand a person's situation, priorities, concerns, and insurance needs. Quoting and presenting appropriate Auto, Home, Renters, Life, and other available insurance solutions. Explaining coverage in understandable language rather than simply throwing numbers at someone. Helping customers understand the difference between price and protection . Asking thoughtful questions that may uncover risks or needs the customer hasn't previously considered. Cross-selling additional lines of insurance when they genuinely make sense for the customer. Following up consistently with prospects rather than abandoning an opportunity after one conversation. Asking for the sale confidently and respectfully. Developing referral and networking relationships within the community. Maintaining organized and accurate prospect and customer information within agency systems. Continuing to develop your knowledge of insurance products and coverage. Participating in sales training, coaching, call reviews, role-play, and professional development. Tracking your activity and results so that we can identify what's working, where you're improving, and where additional coaching may help. Contributing to the overall success and culture of the agency—not just your individual production. How We Approach Sales We don't want robotic scripts or pressure tactics. We want our producers to become excellent communicators. That means learning how to:
Listen before prescribing. Understand what's actually important to someone before recommending a solution. Educate instead of overwhelm. Insurance can be confusing. Part of our job is making it understandable. Tell the truth even when it doesn't immediately benefit us. Trust is more valuable than a single transaction. Ask difficult questions when they matter. Sometimes protecting someone requires helping them think about risks they would rather not think about. Respect the person's autonomy. Our job is to help someone make an informed decision—not manipulate them into one. Ask for the business. Being human-centered does not mean being afraid to sell. If we genuinely believe a solution benefits someone, we should be confident enough to recommend it. Growth & Accountability We want people who want to be challenged. You can expect:
Clear performance expectations. Individual production goals. Regular coaching and feedback. Sales role-play and skill development. Opportunities to review conversations and identify areas for improvement. Recognition for progress and strong performance. Opportunities to develop expertise across multiple insurance products. Increasing responsibility as your abilities grow. A workplace where asking questions and learning from mistakes is encouraged. Accountability when expectations are not being met. The purpose of accountability here isn't to catch people failing. It's to help people recognize what they're capable of and build the habits necessary to reach it. If you're improving, we want to recognize it. If you're struggling, we want to coach you. If you're succeeding, we're going to challenge you to see how much further you can grow. Qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and goal-oriented. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Comfortable communicating by phone, text, email, and in person. Willingness to prospect and initiate conversations with people you don't already know. Ability to remain resilient when facing rejection. Willingness to learn and use agency technology and CRM systems. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. High level of integrity and professionalism. Previous sales or customer-facing experience is helpful, but character, work ethic, coachability, and potential matter greatly to us. Applicable insurance licensing will be required based on the responsibilities of the position. What Success Looks Like Here Success isn't simply writing the most policies. It's becoming someone who: consistently does the work, gets better at their craft, follows through, communicates honestly, builds trust, asks for opportunities, accepts coaching, helps teammates, protects customers appropriately, and produces results. We believe the strongest producers can be both high-performing and deeply human. You shouldn't have to choose between caring about people and being excellent at sales. We expect both. This Role May Be For You If… You're looking for a place where you can simply collect a paycheck and stay comfortable, this probably won't be the right environment. But if part of you thinks: "I know I'm capable of more, and I want to find out how good I can become," we'd like to meet you. You don't have to arrive as the finished product. You do have to be willing to grow.Pay:
