About the Role A unique senior leadership opportunity to join a highly rated insurance company as Commercial Lines Underwriting Director. You will direct the team, looking for ways to be profitable, maintain a high level of account satisfaction, and expand the company market opportunities in the west region.
Duties & Responsibilities Personnel Management:
Coach, train, and mentor commercial underwriters and underwriting managers. Foster a strong culture that centers on teamwork, shared goals, engagement, and accountability.
Underwriting:
Implement strategies that attract good business opportunities. Drive profitability growth and partner closely with agencies and vendors to promote the company's products and services to achieve profitability. Evaluate market trends and seek out opportunities to increase market share.
Operations:
Monitor underwriting processes and procedures for consistency and in line with best practices and regulatory guidelines. Closely partner with claims, product development, and sales to optimize underwriting performance. Skills & Experience Prior commercial lines underwriting and underwriting management experience is required. Proven track record of leadership expertise- coaching, mentoring, and developing underwriting personnel. Excellent commercial underwriting expertise with deep knowledge on pricing, marketing/retention strategies, process management, and underwriting guidelines.
