Tamarac, FL Job Details Full-time $73,109.92 - $88,046.36 a year 3 hours ago Qualifications Automated underwriting system Teamwork Property & Casualty License High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Sales management systems proficiency Computer skills CRM system proficiency Business insurance sales Insurance sales Full Job Description The Senior Broker is responsible for driving profitable growth within CSMV's business by quoting and underwriting policies, binding coverage, onboarding and developing agency partners, generating revenue, and expanding carrier relationships and market access.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Quote, underwrite, and bind new and renewal trucking/commercial auto insurance policies in accordance with underwriting guidelines, carrier requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Analyze submissions to evaluate risk quality, pricing, coverage terms, loss history, exposure details, and operational characteristics of trucking accounts.
  • Prepare and present coverage options, indications, proposals, and bind requests; secure required documentation and confirmations to complete binding.
  • Manage the end-to-end placement process, including submission intake, clearance, marketing, negotiation, quoting, binding, and post-bind handoff.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of agency partners; recruit, onboard, and activate new agencies to drive consistent production.
  • Serve as a primary relationship contact for assigned agencies, ensuring responsiveness, service quality, and growth of agency portfolios.
  • Develop and expand carrier relationships, including obtaining and maintaining appointments/markets, negotiating terms, and identifying new program or product opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate policy issuance, endorsements, audits, cancellations/non-renewals, and documentation standards.
  • Monitor performance and production metrics (e.g., quote-to-bind, hit ratios, premium growth, retention, loss ratio trends) and execute action plans to improve results.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, carrier contracts, E&O standards, and internal controls.
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities and recommend coverage improvements aligned with client needs and risk profile.
  • Support strategic initiatives and other growth-related tasks as assigned, including revenue-generation projects and market expansion efforts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Insurance & Underwriting Acumen:
Demonstrated ability to evaluate risk, interpret underwriting guidelines, and structure competitive coverage terms for trucking/commercial auto accounts.
Quoting & Placement Expertise:
Strong capability to market submissions, negotiate terms, and move accounts efficiently from quote to bind.
Agency Relationship Management:
Proven skill in developing producer relationships, onboarding agencies, and increasing production through consistent engagement and support.
Carrier/Market Development:
Ability to build and maintain carrier partnerships, identify new markets, and improve market access and placement outcomes.
Sales & Revenue Generation:
Strong consultative selling approach with the ability to drive premium growth, improve hit ratios, and identify new revenue opportunities.
Communication:
Clear, professional written and verbal communication with the ability to present coverage options and negotiate effectively.
Organization & Execution:
Ability to manage a high-volume workflow, prioritize deadlines, and maintain accuracy while working across multiple accounts and stakeholders.
Analytical Skills:
Ability to interpret loss runs, financials, exposure data, and performance metrics to support underwriting decisions and growth strategies.
Systems & Documentation:
Proficiency in agency management systems, CRM tools, carrier portals, and maintaining complete, audit-ready files.
Judgment & Integrity:
Consistent application of ethical standards, confidentiality, and sound decision-making aligned with company and regulatory requirements.
Teamwork & Collaboration:
Ability to partner effectively with underwriting, operations, and leadership to deliver strong outcomes and service levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • 3-7+ years of experience in commercial lines insurance, brokerage, underwriting, or production roles; trucking/commercial auto experience strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated experience quoting, underwriting, and binding policies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience building and managing agency relationships and/or a producer network.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial auto/trucking coverages and related documentation (e.g., loss runs, driver schedules, vehicle lists, filings, etc.).
  • Proficiency with standard office software and industry systems (e.g., AMS/CRM, carrier portals, rating/underwriting platforms).
  • Ability to travel locally/regionally as needed for agency and carrier meetings. Preferred
  • Active Florida 2-20 Resident General Lines license (Property/Casualty authority).
  • Industry designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM, AU) or comparable advanced insurance training.
  • Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) a plus.

Pay:
$73,109.92 - $88,046.36 per year
