In this energetic position, you will support veterinarians and technicians by providing hands-on animal handling, assisting with medical procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your veterinary skills while working in a compassionate, fast-paced setting dedicated to animal health and welfare. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments by preparing animals, restraining them safely, and supporting medical procedures such as IV insertions and catheterizations. Handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, horses, and other small or large animals with confidence in animal restraint techniques and behavior management. Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning of kennels, treatment areas, surgical suites, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards. Support record keeping by accurately documenting patient information, treatment details, medication administration, and procedure notes using veterinary terminology. Manage front desk duties including client communication, appointment scheduling, answering questions about pet care, and providing excellent customer service. Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animal welfare to ensure optimal health conditions. Support emergency critical care situations by assisting with triage procedures and ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain safety for staff and animals. Requirements Prior kennel experience or hands-on animal handling experience is highly preferred. Experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is advantageous; familiarity with veterinary terminology is a plus. Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, behavior, and basic medical procedures such as medication administration is essential. Ability to perform tasks such as cleaning kennels and surgical areas efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Capable of handling animals safely during restraint procedures for exams or treatments. Basic understanding of record keeping systems related to veterinary care. Willingness to learn new skills such as IV insertion, animal catheterization, or advanced surgical support techniques.
