Evaluates risk in different types of securities and advises clients on investments that will yield highest profits.
Insurance Merge Associates is partnering with a well-established insurance organization to identify the right individual for this opportunity in Metairie, Louisiana. We are seeking an organized, customer-focused professional to support insurance underwriting and policy administration activities. This position will assess risk and process requests within established authority limits, maintain and issue new and renewal policies, prepare quotes, assist policyholders, and work closely with internal departments including Marketing, Claims, Finance, Risk Management, and Underwriting. Key Responsibilities Assess risk and process requests within established authority limits. Maintain, issue, and quote new and renewal insurance policies and tail coverages. Serve as a primary contact for policyholder phone inquiries and provide assistance regarding coverage, billing, and routine service requests. Screen and refer calls to appropriate Underwriting, Marketing, Agency, and Risk Management personnel when necessary. Rate professional and general liability insurance coverage, including quotes for new business and policy changes. Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal medical professional liability coverage for individual healthcare providers. Issue new business policies and perform quality reviews. Evaluate and process premium and non-premium-bearing endorsements, including part-time coverage, locum tenens, corporate entity coverage, extended reporting endorsements, and address changes. Review renewal policies and resolve discrepancies. Prepare mid-term endorsements and invoices as directed by underwriting. Review renewal applications and follow up for additional information when needed. Prepare formal tail quote letters for policyholders. Process refunds and assist with void check procedures. Assist with reporting, data integrity, system processing, and application maintenance. Perform invoice quality assurance and prepare manual invoices as needed. Research and manage open accounts receivable items, including follow-up on overdue accounts. Handle correspondence with policyholders and respond to phone inquiries. Provide information and assistance to insureds regarding their policies and coverage. Respond to inquiries involving policy discrepancies and requested documentation. Communicate with Marketing regarding physicians who cancel coverage or move coverage to other policies. Set up and maintain system records for corporations and other applicable risk types. Research past-due accounts receivable and assist with reconciliation of accounting and premium finance issues. Communicate with premium finance companies regarding discrepancies and cancellation notices. Process policy cancellations and applicable refunds. Maintain required continuing education requirements for Property & Casualty licensing. Participate in professional development activities and department meetings. Assist with special projects and provide departmental training and support as needed. Ability to manage time, establish priorities, and meet assigned objectives. Preferred College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license, or willingness to obtain one within 60 days of hire. Previous insurance industry experience. Experience with medical malpractice insurance rating and policy issuance systems. Experience working with insurance policy administration or underwriting systems.
