Working directly alongside executive leadership, you will take ownership of day-to-day operations, large-loss decisions, and policy execution during an exciting phase of expansion. What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Operational Leadership:
Manage day-to-day personal lines underwriting operations and direct a high-performing team of ~14 personnel, including Underwriters, Underwriting Assistants, and Supervisors.
Decision Authority:
Serve as the final escalation point and authority for complex coverage questions, underwriting exceptions, and large-loss determinations.
Regulatory & Filings:
Assist with and take ownership of rate filings, form filings, and drafting new policy endorsements.
Program Oversight:
Oversee operational execution and strategy for the Homeowners line of business.
Mentorship & Growth:
Provide ongoing guidance, decision-making support, and professional development to elevate team capability. What We're Looking For (Qualifications)
Core Underwriting Expertise:
6+ years of dedicated Underwriting experience, with strong expertise in Personal Lines (specifically Homeowners).
Leadership Experience:
Proven track record in people management, leading underwriting teams, or direct supervisory oversight.
Decision-Making Authority:
Demonstrated history of holding high-level underwriting authority and handling complex loss evaluations.
Technical Acumen:
Understanding of rate filings, form design, and the broader macro-underwriting process.
Mindset & Culture Fit:
Highly adaptable, curious, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
