Program is an education and training program hosted by the Amwins Underwriting division. Participants will take part in an intensive 9-week program to gain a deep knowledge of the insurance industry, underwriting practices, and the Amwins organization. This program helps candidates develop a variety of professional skills while providing opportunities to network across multiple facets of the organization. For a highly motivated individual, the education and exposure in this program will support a candidate's desire to excel in his or her underwriting career. The training program will be hosted in Charlotte, NC, where Amwins is based. Participants will be provided housing during the 9-week training. After training in Charlotte, the participant will relocate to Bloomington, MN to work with Amwins National Transportation Underwriters. Participants will be expected to travel no more than two times a year to Charlotte, NC, or other Amwins offices for additional training over the next few years.Program Assets:

We are looking for individuals who are eager to add their unique value to the team. While working with the industry's leading wholesalers and surplus lines carriers, candidates will have the opportunity to learn the transportation underwriting business from the ground up. Upon graduation of the 9-week program, the candidate will move into an entry-level underwriting support role with Amwins National Transportation Underwriters in Bloomington, MN. The role combines hands-on account and policy work with direct client contact from day one.Duties will include:
Set up submission information for new and renewal business in the agency management and rating systems Request and follow through on missing information from retail partners and outside sources Rate new and renewal business across multiple carrier platforms and internal tools Contact carriers directly by phone and email to market risk submissions and identify the best placement for each account Quote accounts with retail clients, working alongside the underwriting team on terms Build working relationships with retail and carrier partners through consistent, day-to-day communication Maintain account logs and monitor reports to keep outstanding items moving Complete bind forms, issue policy numbers, and review bound account information Handle policy issuance and endorsement processing QA policies, proposals, and binding acknowledgements Order loss control in accordance with company guidelines; review completed reports and take appropriate action Assist with accounting procedures such as invoicing As you grow in the role: Continue building knowledge of transportation products, policy forms, and market conditions Learn to market new and renewal accounts, weighing coverage, cost, and market conditions in determining appropriate terms Deepen relationships with retail and carrier partners, with opportunities to take on in-person carrier meetings over time Take on additional account responsibility as experience and underwriting knowledge buildBenefits
