The selected candidate will analyze and review GL submissions related to construction, encompassing wrap-ups, project-specific policies, and contractor programs. Evaluate risk quality, loss history, financial robustness, and compliance with underwriting criteria. Establish suitable coverage terms, conditions, and pricing by considering risk traits and market dynamics. Oversee a portfolio of business to meet growth and profitability goals. Keep track of performance indicators, loss ratios, and adherence to underwriting standards. Recognize and resolve negative trends, applying corrective measures as needed. Recognize and resolve negative trends, applying corrective measures as needed. Serve as a technical adviser for junior underwriters and underwriting assistants. Offer training and support regarding underwriting best practices and the intricacies of construction risks. Ensure all underwriting decisions are in line with company policies, regulations, and risk appetite. A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field is required. At least 7 years of underwriting experience is necessary, with a minimum of 3 years dedicated to construction GL risks. A solid record of managing intricate accounts and significant projects is essential. Strong analytical and negotiation abilities are a must. A comprehensive understanding of construction operations, contractual risk transfer, and insurance demands is required. Familiarity with rating tools, underwriting systems, and Microsoft Office Suite is important. CPCU, AU, or RPLU is preferred.
