Incline Search is representing a young Construction MGA looking for a Senior/AVP Construction Underwriter. This role joins a 2-person team (Analyst + CUO), offering direct mentorship from a market-leading construction insurance executive. This leader is currently bogged down by administrative work and targeting a candidate that can help produce quality wholesale business and leverage his relationships. They just doubled their capacity (A++ paper) to expand their NYC construction book and grow a nationwide book of projects, wraps, infrastructure, and more.Responsibilities:
- Underwrite & produce primary construction casualty business through wholesaler brokers
- Assist the CUO in handling inbound submissions
- Manage and grow a profitable book of business
- Build and maintain strong wholesale broker relationships to drive new opportunities
- Serve as a technical resource for construction GL underwriting
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Construction underwriting experience, with a strong focus on construction or trades
- Deep understanding of contractor operations and construction liability exposures (ideally NYC-focused
- Proven track record of managing and growing a profitable GL book
- Established broker relationships within the construction or specialty trades space
