Bridge Specialty Group is seeking a Property & Casualty Broker to join our growing team in Morristown, NJ ! The Commercial Lines P&C Broker will gain technical knowledge along with an understanding of internal processes and procedures necessary to be effective in a Broker or Binding Authority Underwriter role. The Commercial Lines P&C Broker is responsible for assisting in achieving incremental sales goals, along with participating in various training and educational opportunities.
How You Will Contribute:
Develop the skills to interact with company and retail agent personnel in a diplomatic and knowledgeable manner in order to establish positive relationships, increase revenues and retain policies upon expiration. Develop relationships with insurance agents, brokers, and carriers by attending sponsored events, along with participating in internal and external sales meetings. Examines such documents as application forms, inspection reports, insurance maps, and medical reports to determine degree of risk from such factors as applicant financial standing, age, occupation, accident experience, and value and condition of property. Requests additional information, if necessary, and accepts or rejects risks in conformance with company guidelines. Review, analyze and underwrite risks submitted by Producers, rate submissions for premium and terms, analyze exposures for quotes for new and renewal business, issue written indications, quotes and binders; use inspection companies to obtain further information, quote rates, or explain company underwriting policies. Process new business in a timely and efficient manner to grow revenues and maintain retention and profitability. Leverages mentorship relationship when marketing and meeting with retail agency customers to develop business and cultivate relationships in an effort to grow a book of business. Foster and improve relationships with other departments, producers, companies and competitors. Develop thorough understanding of internal operations to successfully extend Company facilities, utilizing binding authorities or brokering risks when required to successfully negotiate a placement. Must successfully complete and pass assigned educational courses, professional designations, and licenses courses and examinations.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid P&C license. Skills & Experience to
Be Successful:
Bachelor's Degree (B.A) from four-year college or university or equivalent industry experience. Proficient with MS Office Suite Exceptional telephone demeanor Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. 0 - 5 years' experience in a similar position Pay Range $75k - $200k Annual The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
