Saddle Brook, NJ Jet Direct Mortgage is looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior Mortgage Underwriter that specialized in VA loans to join our fast paced, goal oriented and supportive environment. Here is what we are looking for: Honest, ethical, and hardworking Ability to multi-task and meet guidelines Ensure compliance with government and bank regulations Strong knowledge of income calculations, tax returns, reading credit reports, identifying red flags Hands on experience with lending for coops and condominiums In depth knowledge of collateral analysis and understanding of appraisal & title reports Prepare customer commitments, with any additional conditions required Communicate decisions (approval, suspense, counter or denial) to appropriate individuals within 30 days of application Thorough working knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac underwriting guidelines and automated underwriting engines (DU/LP)
Qualifications:
Current CHUMS Certification with 5 + years FHA / Conventional Underwriting Experience Strong capability to work in multiple systems such as Encompass - paperless environment Knowledgeable in regulatory, policy and compliance issues pertaining to the mortgage industry Ability to successfully manage a substantial pipeline of loans in a timely manner, while focusing on accuracy and important details Knowledge in regulatory issues in both underwriting/finance and real estate What you will get: Competitive compensation and incentives Excellent benefit packages that includes Medical, Dental, 401(k), Life Insurance, paid holidays, and more!
