In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in tax law, financial concepts, and accounting to develop strategic tax planning initiatives, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and maximize the value of our assets. Your proactive approach will drive informed decision-making across complex financial structures, contributing significantly to our organization's financial health and growth. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies for asset management and portfolio optimization, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. Oversee tax reporting processes, including preparation of tax returns, regulatory filings, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Conduct detailed analysis of investment structures such as private equity, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), mergers & acquisitions, and other complex transactions to identify tax implications and opportunities. Manage audits related to tax assets and portfolios, collaborating with auditors to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of securities law, tax law, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements affecting asset management activities. Coordinate with cross-functional teams on financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation activities. Provide expert guidance on estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law to optimize estate-related tax benefits for clients or organizational holdings. Utilize financial software such as Quickbooks or specialized accounting tools to track debits & credits, perform double entry bookkeeping, and facilitate precise financial reporting. Support client communication efforts by explaining complex tax concepts clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Extensive experience in accounting and finance roles with a focus on tax compliance, corporate tax expertise, or public accounting. Proven expertise in estate planning, individual tax preparation, corporate accounting, and technical accounting standards including GAAP. Strong understanding of securities law, regulatory compliance accounting, SOX controls, and financial reporting requirements. Demonstrated ability in analyzing financial concepts such as balance sheet reconciliation, investment valuation, financial report interpretation, and analysis skills. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks), financial software tools, and tax reporting platforms. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax issues clearly and professionally. Experience in mergers & acquisitions or private equity transactions is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in account reconciliation and regulatory reporting processes.
