REQUIRED
: Bachelor's degree in physical or life sciences; Registered Patent Practitioner; a minimum of seven years of relevant experience, including managing or advising on large patent portfolios and experience filing and prosecuting patents, preferably at a company or university managing patent portfolios; deep knowledge of patent law; superior verbal and written communications skills; ability to interact capably with a variety of stakeholders; organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; problem-solving and decision-making skills; solid interpersonal skills that reflect courtesy, diplomacy, and a collaborative approach to develop and maintain effective working relationships; ability to work independently, and as a member of a team; exercise discretion in the performance of all work assignments; and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, matrix like environment and manage a large workload.
PREFERRED
: Advanced technical degree; demonstrated understanding of the needs of multiple stakeholders in a complex academic environment; and detailed understanding of nuanced issues related to the protection of IP and enforcement of patents owned by an academic institution. Managing patent portfolios in areas covering one or many of the following: molecular biology, artificial intelligence, therapeutic, diagnostic, drug delivery, genetic engineering, biomanufacturing, biomaterials and/or drug discovery technologies.
