Position Summary The Team Lead, Commercial Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of commercial portfolio managers while managing a portfolio of high-value commercial clients. This role involves strategic leadership, risk management, credit analysis, and business development. The ideal candidate will provide mentorship to team members, ensure strong client relationships, and drive portfolio growth while maintaining credit quality and compliance. This position is located in our downtown Seattle office and requires full-time, in-person work. Essential Duties Physically attending work on a set and predictable schedule is an essential function of this job.Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Commercial Portfolio Managers. Provide guidance on credit structuring, risk assessment, and client relationship management. Ensure team members meet performance goals and comply with regulatory and bank policies. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.Portfolio & Risk Management:
Oversee and manage a portfolio of commercial clients, ensuring financial performance and risk mitigation. Monitor loan performance and proactively address potential risks or delinquencies. Approve or recommend credit structures that align with bank policies and risk appetite.Credit & Financial Analysis:
Oversee financial statement analysis, risk assessment, and due diligence for commercial loan applications. Ensure credit underwriting and documentation align with regulatory and compliance requirements. Work closely with underwriting and risk teams to structure complex credit facilities.Strategic Planning & Execution:
Develop and implement strategies to optimize portfolio performance and profitability. Monitor industry trends, economic conditions, and market developments to identify opportunities and risks. Collaborate with senior management to align portfolio growth with corporate goals.Requirements:
Due to the collaborative nature of this position, it requires daily in-person work. [After a 90-day training period, this position allows for one day of work from home each week.] No exceptions will be granted.Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field (MBA preferred).Experience:
7+ years of experience in commercial banking, credit analysis, or portfolio management. 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.Skills:
Strong leadership, coaching, and team management abilities. Excellent financial analysis, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships. Strong knowledge of credit underwriting, commercial lending regulations, and banking software.
