A Loan Officer assists customers who apply for loans, and solicits loan applications on behalf of a bank, mortgage broker or other lender. Markets products and provides information on types of loans available, gathers financial and credit information needed to evaluate loan applications; guides the application and approval process. May specialize in loans to businesses or individuals, or in loans to buy real estate.

Job Description
- Administer Loan Applications including, but not limited to: Mortgage Home Equity Lines of Credit Construction Loans Consumer Loans
- Make lending decisions (Approve/Deny/Counteroffer) up to approved limit
- Obtain proper documentation to support lending decision
- Present Loan Applications to Loan Committee when over approval limit
- Contact customers in the event of past due loans and obtain payment Repossess collateral if applicable
- Force place Insurances when applicable
- Complete Customer CIP Profiles
- Complete required Compliance forms/documents as needed by loan type
- Ensure Cedar Valley's Investment is protected (Insurance in place if applicable)
- Conduct Site Visits
- Answer telephone
- Answer customer questions
- Other duties as assigned
- Develop contacts with realtors, developers and builders to encourage use of bank services for residential mortgages. Provide market data, rate flyers, and general loan information to the real estate community as directed. Requirements for the position include the following:
- High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in Real Estate/Consumer Lending. Must have valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills.
