SUMMARY We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Commercial Relationship Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of commercial lending experience and a demonstrated ability to generate strong loan and deposit production, with a preference for candidates who have led or mentored lending teams. This person will be responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining a diversified portfolio of commercial and private banking relationships, while also mentoring junior lenders and contributing to the strong culture of Idaho Trust Bank.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and manage a high performing, diversified commercial loan portfolio with strong credit quality and profitability. Generate and sustain a pipeline of prospective banking relationships by meeting with business owners, controllers, CFOs, attorneys, CPAs, and other centers of influence. Lead by example as both a strong producer and a cultural contributor within the bank. Mentor, develop, and potentially manage other relationship managers or junior lenders. Build strong relationships with clients and centers of influence through community engagement and market visibility. Collaborate with credit analysts and other internal teams to ensure sound credit decisions and smooth execution. Present loan proposals to the bank's loan committee and maintain ongoing portfolio oversight. Uphold bank policies and regulatory compliance standards. Contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives; potential career path includes consideration for future Chief Lending Officer role.
THE SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum 10 years of commercial lending experience, ideally at a community bank with <$5B in assets. Demonstrated success in independently sourcing and closing loans and deposits through market outreach. Proven leadership abilities, either through direct management experience or by mentoring and influencing others. Strong credit acumen and understanding of bank financial metrics, loan policy, and underwriting standards. Bachelor's degree required. Advanced knowledge of commercial, business, and private lending practices. SBA experience (7a/504) knowledge preferred. Understanding of cash management products and services. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Readiness to step into an executive lending role within 18-36 months. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
