At 3Rivers Federal Credit Union, we understand that building a mortgage pipeline takes time. That's why we offer a supportive compensation structure for our Loan Officers as they ramp up. All new Loan Officers will receive bi-weekly pay based on an annual base salary of $60,000, in addition to commission opportunities. Depending on the experience and background of the individual, a temporary ramp-up period with a higher base salary may be offered to support initial production and onboarding. This higher salary and the duration of the ramp-up period will be discussed and determined in collaboration with the Senior Vice President of Lending. After the ramp-up period, Loan Officers will transition to the standard compensation model of $60,000 base salary plus earned commissions. Competitive Draw Position Summary The Mortgage Loan Officer establishes trusting relationships with members and business partners by providing consistent, high-quality service. Uses persistence and persuasion to overcome objections. Increases member satisfaction by being highly responsive to the needs of members. Incorporates critical thinking when working with membership to ascertain which option is the best fit for the member's Spend, Save, and Borrow needs. Provides advice and assistance regarding budget counseling, consolidations, pay methods, and other areas relating to members' financial needs. Well-versed with a variety of mortgage products, including Conventional, Government (FHA, VA, and USDA), and Equity Products. Up to date on all Portfolio Loan guidelines in order to meet origination unit and volume goals. Evaluates alternatives to ensure the solutions provided and products recommended are in the best interest of the membership. Assesses risk and ensures compliance with all credit union policies and procedures, as well as Federal Laws and Regulations. Ensures all Credit Union member information and transactions are kept confidential. Manages the lending process, evaluates need, sells products, and maintains knowledge of internal and competitors' trends (rates, terms, etc.). Uses technology to its fullest extent and leverages technical support when needed to either enhance performance or solve a problem. Must be comfortable in an outside sales role and be familiar with calling on referral sources, including Realtors, Builders, Investment Advisors, and other COIs in the community, in order to grow the Credit Union's membership through the origination of Purchase and Construction Mortgage Transactions. Must be able to attend outside events in a networking capacity, promoting the 3Rivers brand and establishing new relationships in order to grow and expand your referral sources. Must be willing to work with the branch teams in order to maintain member retention through various types of mortgage transactions. Must be available to work nights and weekends when member needs are present. Good understanding of financial institution products and services. Excellent attention to detail. Intermediate knowledge of business financial structures and deposit needs. Knowledge of office procedures and equipment. Exceptional knowledge of computer functions and internal software applications. Interpersonal skills to present the Credit Union positively during transactions. Goal/mission-driven Self-starter who knows how to develop centers of influence Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Adheres to all federal, state, and credit union regulations and policies. Education and/or Experience 1-3 years of mortgage experience needed, with existing referral sources preferred High School diploma or equivalent College degree in a business-related field, preferred Core Values Commitment- Be all in.
