As a Senior Loan Officer, you will be responsible for managing loan origination, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including Fair Housing laws and TILA (Truth in Lending Act). Responsibilities Lead the loan origination process by assessing client needs, explaining loan options, and securing necessary documentation efficiently. Conduct thorough credit analysis and underwriting to evaluate borrower eligibility while adhering to FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and other investor requirements. Negotiate terms with clients, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to reach mutually beneficial agreements that align with company policies and regulatory standards. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws including TILA, Fair Housing regulations, and escrow procedures throughout every stage of the loan process. Collaborate with loan processing teams to verify documentation accuracy, perform basic math calculations for loan structuring, and facilitate smooth loan closings. Provide exceptional customer service by guiding clients through each step of the loan journey, addressing questions promptly, and maintaining clear communication. Assess customer needs, explore all available options, and introduce appropriate loan products Develop referral networks, suggest alternate channels, and cross-sell products and services to meet quotas Requirements Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar financial services role with a strong background in mortgage origination and processing. Current, active NMLS license or abiliity to obtain with in 90 days Demonstrated expertise in financial sales, negotiation skills, credit analysis, and contract management within banking or mortgage environments. Familiarity with FNMA guidelines, underwriting standards, escrow procedures, and mortgage servicing operations. Proficiency in mortgage-related software such as Quicken, accounting software, financial software tools, and 10-key typing skills for efficient data entry. Knowledge of TILA regulations along with Fair Housing laws to ensure legal compliance across all transactions. Strong math skills including basic calculations necessary for loan structuring and credit evaluation. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and professionally.
