Job Description

Loan Officer / Assistant Manager Family First Federal Credit Union is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Loan Officer/Assistant Manager to join our team! We are a small, member-focused credit union seeking a dependable professional who thrives in a close-knit office environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and committed to providing exceptional member service. What We Offer A 35-hour workweek with pay equivalent to 40 hours Salary based on experience Opportunity for this role to transition into a salaried management position as responsibilities and experience within the organization grow A supportive, team-oriented work environment Opportunities to develop experience across multiple areas of credit union operations Loan Officer Responsibilities The Loan Officer will provide consumer lending products and services to members in accordance with credit union policies, objectives, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities include:
Interviewing loan applicants and evaluating their financial needs Processing loan applications from the initial request through disbursement Reviewing credit reports, financial information, and applicant backgrounds Approving or denying loan applications using sound judgment, prudence, and established lending guidelines Providing financial counseling to help members improve their financial well-being Maintaining accurate and complete loan documentation Building and servicing a strong portfolio of high-quality consumer loans that supports the credit union's growth and profitability Assistant Manager Responsibilities As Assistant Manager, this position will provide secondary management support to the President/CEO and assist with the credit union's general operations.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting daily operations in the member service, teller, and phone service areas Assisting on the teller line and answering phones as needed Responding to member questions, concerns, and disputes professionally and respectfully Maintaining a strong focus on member relationships and service Assisting with staff support and operational oversight Cross-training with the President/CEO in key areas of credit union operations, including: Credit union accounting, accounts payable, budgeting, and financial reporting Internal resource management Contract and vendor management Human resources Marketing Information technology management Debit and credit card programs Regulatory compliance This position is designed to grow as the successful candidate develops broader management responsibilities. The role is expected to transition into a salaried position as part of that progression. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma required; two years of college education or equivalent experience preferred Minimum of two years of consumer lending experience required Strong interpersonal and member-service skills Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing Must be bondable through the credit union's insurance carrier Must hold a Montana Limited Lines Credit Insurance License and applicable Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) credentials, or be eligible to obtain and complete all licensing requirements within four weeks of employment Must become a commissioned notary within the first 60 days of employment This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
