The Opportunity We're looking for a motivated, organized, and personable Loan Officer Assistant to join our team in Piscataway. You'll work closely with our Loan Officers and Operations team, helping manage clients, organize loan files, collect documentation, follow up on outstanding items, and keep the loan process moving forward. Mortgage experience is a plus, but we're also open to the right person who is eager to learn and grow with us. What You'll Do Support Loan Officers with day-to-day activities and active loan files Communicate with clients and help guide them through the mortgage process Assist with mortgage applications and collect required documentation Review files for completeness and accuracy Follow up with clients on outstanding documents and loan conditions Help prepare files for processing and underwriting Work closely with Loan Officers, processors, underwriters, and other team members Keep clients and the team updated throughout the loan process Help ensure deadlines are met and loans stay on track for closing Provide a high level of customer service from application through closing Who We're Looking For You'll be a great fit if you are: Friendly, professional, and comfortable communicating with clients Extremely organized and detail-oriented Someone who takes initiative and follows through Able to juggle multiple priorities without letting things fall through the cracks Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment A strong communicator by phone, email, and in person Comfortable learning new technology and software A team player who is willing to jump in and help wherever needed Interested in learning and growing within the mortgage industry Previous mortgage, banking, real estate, finance, processing, underwriting, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required for the right candidate. Licensing Candidates who are not currently licensed must be willing to obtain the required mortgage loan originator license(s) within 90 days of their start date. Why Petra Cephas?
