PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Silver State Schools Credit Union to live out its Mission, "Excellent Member Service and Financial Solutions- For Life," by providing outstanding service to both members and internal members.

Promote the mortgage lending programs to members, credit union employees, Realtor professionals, as well as prospective new members. Solicit loan applications with the purpose of originating and closing profitable, quality first mortgage loans. Council members regarding their mortgage financing goals. Within authorized authority, and in accordance with sound underwriting practices as set out in policy and procedure, examines, evaluates, and recommends approval of borrower's applications for first mortgage loan applications. The incumbent accomplishes the essential duties as follows:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. In person or phone interview applicant, answers questions, and counsel's member regarding member's mortgage needs. Completes Uniform Residential Loan Application and requests specified information for loan application. Information may be recorded in writing, or by computer where automated loan processing technology is available. Looks for cross sell opportunities and close cross sell of Credit Union products and services. Using a personal computer and various software programs for originating, processing, and closing mortgage loans, analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan. Analyzes potential lending opportunities involved in each lending situation to further assist the borrower as well as increase the credit union's lending portfolio. Cross sells borrowers on the benefits of utilizing other credit union services. Corresponds with or interviews applicant to resolve questions regarding application information. Assists members on a continuous basis by, providing quotes, current information about loan programs, interest rates, fees, and qualifying guidelines. Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy and requirements established by regulatory agencies or investor. Confers with department personnel to aid in resolving mortgage application problems and to obtain loan approval in the most expeditious manner possible. Performs ancillary duties related to real estate and other lending. Collects from appropriate parties on behalf of the credit union all costs needed for appraisals, credit reports, underwriting fees, or other origination expenses. Studies daily pricing trends, activity networks, reads current industry publications and participates in Realtor or industry-related meetings and events to stay abreast of local competition and general marketing trends. Maintains a good relationship with branches to obtain and promote referrals. EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
An associates or bachelor's degree is preferred with a minimum of three years related experience and/or training in real estate lending; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field. This individual must have or obtain knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional, or any special program as needed and required.ONLY FULLY COMPLETED APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED
