Soliciting Bail Agents We are seeking Soliciting Bail Agents to work with jails and law enforcement agencies to secure the release of individuals accused of crimes. Licensing Requirements To qualify as a Bail Agent in Mississippi, applicants must complete the required 40-hour pre-licensing education course through a Mississippi Department of Insurance-approved provider. Agents who make themselves available for calls and actively work the job typically produce the highest income.

Bail Agent, You Must Be Able To:
Use computers, smartphones, and internet-based programs Communicate clearly and maintain professional handwriting Work independently with minimal supervision Interview inmates and evaluate risk factors Determine whether a defendant is a flight risk or danger to others (We do NOT bond everyone who calls.) Speak with family members and friends to arrange bond payments and release logistics Maintain contact with clients until their case is completed Notify clients of court dates and schedule changes Appear in court with and/or on behalf of clients when necessary Locate and return clients to jail when required (commonly known as bounty hunting) Compensation Agents are independent contractors and are paid on a commission basis. The agent who writes the bond receives a percentage of the premium collected.
Commission percentages are based on:
Experience Industry knowledge Ability to evaluate risk Overall job performance Agents who learn quickly and demonstrate good judgment typically increase their commission percentage rapidly. Requirements Must be at least 21 years old Must possess a valid driver's license Must have reliable transportation Must have a cellphone with internet access at all times Because agents are self-employed, there are no fixed schedules or mandatory shifts. However, agents who consistently answer calls and stay active generally earn substantially more income. "Bail bonding isn't what we do — it's who we are."
