- Demonstrate knowledge of mortgage loan products, services, and investor underwriting guidelines.
- Follow company policies, security guidelines, and all applicable federal, state, local, fair lending, and community lending regulations.
- Coordinate with legal counsel and operating departments to ensure compliance with regulations for new or revised products and services.
- Interview loan applicants and gather required information to support credit decisions.
- Compile loan packages and negotiate loan structures, including fees, repayment options, and other credit terms.
- Conduct credit analysis to support loan approval within established officer and investor guidelines.
- Identify and analyze potential markets to develop new mortgage loan prospects.
- Build strong customer relationships, promote additional services, and refer customers to appropriate staff.
- Take ownership of customer concerns and work toward resolution.
- Serve as a primary contact for customer and prospective customer questions regarding mortgage products, rates, and procedures.
- Develop new business through relationships with realtors, builders, customers, and other referral sources, including occasional evening and weekend activities.
