Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Escrow Officer to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will manage real estate transactions from start to finish, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for clients, agents, lenders, and other stakeholders. Your expertise in title searches, legal descriptions, and real estate documentation will be crucial in facilitating accurate closings while adhering to underwriting guidelines and legal requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your knowledge of real estate law, mapping software, and title processing in a fast-paced environment that values precision and excellent customer service. Duties Oversee the entire escrow process for real estate transactions, including opening, managing, and closing escrow accounts. Conduct comprehensive title searches using public records and title records to verify ownership, liens, easements, and legal descriptions. Review and analyze real estate documentation such as deeds, mortgages, easements, and other legal descriptions to ensure accuracy and compliance. Utilize real estate transaction management software and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping software to organize data and visualize property boundaries. Communicate effectively with clients, real estate agents, lenders, attorneys, and other parties to provide updates and clarify transaction details. Ensure all title processing activities adhere strictly to underwriting guidelines and legal standards while maintaining thorough documentation of each step. Perform research on public records to resolve discrepancies or issues related to title history or property boundaries. Review title review reports for accuracy and completeness before finalizing the escrow process. Manage real estate closing procedures by coordinating document signing, fund disbursement, and recording of legal documents with local authorities. Maintain detailed records of all escrow activities, including title searches, mappings, legal descriptions, and correspondence for audit purposes. Experience Proven experience working within a law office environment or in a role focused on real estate law or escrow services. Strong familiarity with title search procedures, public records research, and legal descriptions related to property transactions. Hands-on experience with real estate transaction management software and mapping tools such as GIS or similar platforms. Knowledge of easements, right-of-way issues, and other property rights that impact title review and property boundaries. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to clients and stakeholders. Ability to adhere strictly to underwriting guidelines while managing multiple transactions efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.
