Mortgage Lending Closer The Mortgage Lending Closer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and finalizing closing documents for mortgage loans to ensure accuracy, compliance, and a smooth closing experience for member. This role works closely with processors, underwriters, title companies, and members to coordinate all aspects of the closing process. The Mortgage Lending Closer verifies loan terms, calculates final figures, ensures all required documentation is complete, and resolves any last minute issues to meet closing deadlines. The Closer is responsible for ensuring loans close in accordance with credit union, investor and regulatory guidelines. What you will do… Coordinates with closing attorneys, title companies, members and various internal departments throughout the mortgage process to ensure timely completion. Reviews data in loan files or records for accuracy of closing documents. Prepares and audits closing instructions and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Identifies and resolves any discrepancies or issues within closing documents. Calculates final closing costs and ensures accurate and timely disbursement of funds. Ensures all closing documents meet state and federal regulations. Obtains and reviews title insurance policies. Prepares final loan documents for borrower signatures. Ensures all post-closing documents are filed and stored correctly. Communicatees effectively with all parties to provide updates and respond to inquiries. Verifies funding amounts, issues funding authorization or wiring instruction, and reconciles amounts to various general ledger accounts. Mortgage Lending Closers are responsible for maintaining exceptional knowledge and complying with federal regulations including, but not limited to:
TRID, RESPA, HMDA, ECOA, FCRA, FDPA, TILA, SAFE
Act and Reg Z. Mortgage Lending Closers are responsible for demonstrating financial responsibility and a high degree of business ethics to ensure decisions are made fairly and efficiently. What you need.... 1-2 years' experience within the mortgage/banking industry NMLS license or ability to obtain an NMLS license within 30 days of hire High School Diploma or equivalency Proficiency with mortgage loan origination systems Proficiency in Office 365 Ability to manage strict deadlines, while handling multiple loan closings at a time Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work in a high-pressured and fast-paced environment Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Understanding of mortgage loan documentation and compliance requirements Strong organizational and multitasking abilities What's in it for you… Competitive pay Pay for performance incentive program Medical, Dental and Vision insurance plans with one option at NO cost for employee only coverage!
