Join the Highest-Producing Branch at Sun American Mortgage Sun American Mortgage is seeking an exceptional Mortgage Loan Processor to join our highest-producing branch in St. George, Utah. For 42 years, we have served customers with exceptional expertise, personal care, and a commitment to doing the right thing. We are a mortgage banker—not a broker—and that distinction matters. It reflects the stability, accountability, resources, and team support behind every loan we close. This is not an entry-level processing role. We are looking for a proven mortgage professional with a strong résumé, deep processing expertise, and a consistent track record of moving complex loans forward with accuracy, urgency, and confidence. If you are known for clean files, proactive communication, sound judgment, and getting borrowers to the closing table on time, this is an opportunity to bring your talent to a team where great work is recognized and relied upon. At Sun American Mortgage, we believe a great processor is at the heart of a great mortgage experience. You are the person who sees around corners, anticipates challenges, creates order from complexity, and gives borrowers, loan officers, referral partners, and underwriters confidence that every detail is being handled with care. You will join a high-performing team that works with purpose, takes ownership, and takes pride in delivering world-class service. What You'll Do As a Mortgage Loan Processor, you will take meaningful ownership of residential mortgage files from a complete application through underwriting, conditions, and closing coordination. Your expertise will help ensure every file is accurate, complete, compliant, and positioned to move smoothly through the loan process. Review residential loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and potential issues before underwriting submission. Gather, review, and organize borrower income, asset, credit, employment, identity, and property documentation in accordance with company, investor, agency, and program guidelines. Build clean, well-documented, underwriter-ready loan packages and manage files with the level of precision that helps prevent avoidable conditions and delays. Order, monitor, and follow up on appraisals, title work, insurance, verifications, and other third-party documentation while protecting contract dates, rate locks, and closing timelines. Manage underwriting conditions with urgency and professionalism; clearly communicate requests, obtain complete documentation, review for accuracy, and resubmit files promptly. Serve as a knowledgeable, responsive point of contact among borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, title and escrow partners, Realtors, and internal operations teams. Keep all loan-file documentation, notes, milestones, and loan origination system data current, organized, and audit-ready. Identify documentation gaps, discrepancies, potential risks, and timing issues early; bring thoughtful solutions forward and collaborate with the team to keep loans moving. Deliver an exceptional customer experience through clear communication, accurate expectations, timely updates, and a genuine commitment to helping people achieve homeownership. Safeguard confidential borrower information and perform all responsibilities in accordance with company policies, investor and agency requirements, and applicable regulations. Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate is an experienced, highly organized mortgage processor who thrives in a high-performance environment. You take personal pride in the quality of your files, communicate with confidence, and understand that outstanding service and operational excellence are inseparable. You have substantial recent experience processing residential mortgage loans, ideally in a mortgage-banking, lender, or high-volume retail environment. You have a proven history of independently managing an active pipeline while meeting deadlines without compromising quality, borrower experience, or compliance. You understand the mortgage process from application through clear-to-close, including documentation requirements, income and asset review, credit, title, appraisal, automated underwriting findings, and underwriting conditions. You are comfortable navigating agency, investor, and program requirements and can recognize when a file needs additional attention before it becomes a problem. You are skilled in a loan origination system and document-management tools; experience with Encompass and strong Microsoft Office skills are highly valued. You possess exceptional attention to detail, time-management ability, written and verbal communication skills, and the judgment to prioritize effectively when the pace is high. You are a calm, solutions-oriented professional who takes ownership, collaborates well, and treats borrowers and partners with genuine respect. You want to be part of a team that holds a high standard, values expertise, and believes an excellent mortgage experience is built one file at a time.
