Vagabond Inn Camarillo is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Night Auditor to join our hospitality team. The Night Auditor plays a vital role in ensuring smooth hotel operations during overnight hours while delivering exceptional guest service. This position combines front desk responsibilities with nightly financial reconciliation and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding guest experiences. This role is responsible for guest arrivals and departures, reservations, guest inquiries, administrative duties, and overnight front desk operations. Primary Responsibilities Night Audit Functions Conduct nightly audits of financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. Review and reconcile daily revenue, room charges, payments, and accounts. Prepare and distribute daily operational and financial reports. Identify and report any discrepancies or unusual activity. Complete end-of-day processing procedures accurately and on time. Guest Services & Front Desk Operations Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, professional manner. Perform efficient and accurate guest check-in and check-out procedures. Verify reservations, guest information, payment details, and room assignments. Answer incoming calls and assist guests with inquiries, reservations, and requests. Provide information regarding hotel amenities, services, local attractions, and hotel policies. Handle guest concerns promptly and professionally while working toward satisfactory resolutions. Create a welcoming environment and maintain exceptional customer service standards. Reservations & Administrative Duties Process reservations, cancellations, extensions, and room changes using hotel computer systems. Maintain accurate guest records and complete required documentation. Assist with filing, data entry, correspondence, and other administrative tasks. Maintain an organized, professional, and clean front desk and lobby area. Monitor and replenish office and front desk supplies as needed. Cash Handling & Accounting Process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions accurately. Balance cash drawers and daily financial reports. Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping for all transactions. Communication & Team Support Communicate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, and management regarding room status and guest needs. Maintain clear shift notes and pass-down information for incoming staff. Support overall hotel operations and assist with additional duties as assigned. Safety & Security Monitor hotel activity and access points during overnight hours. Respond appropriately to emergencies, guest incidents, and security concerns. Protect guest privacy and confidential information. Follow all hotel safety procedures, policies, and brand service standards. Preferred Experience Previous hotel front desk, hospitality, customer service, or administrative experience preferred. Prior Night Auditor experience is a plus. Experience with hotel reservation systems or property management systems preferred. Basic accounting, bookkeeping, or cash handling experience is beneficial. Technical Skills Basic computer proficiency, including email, Microsoft Office, and hotel software systems. Ability to learn and operate hotel reservation and property management systems efficiently. Additional Requirements Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed. Ability to stand, walk, and perform front desk duties for extended periods.
