Front Office Manager Position Summary:
The Night Auditor at Marriott Tampa Westshore is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations during the overnight shift. This position performs a combination of front desk duties, guest service responsibilities, and accounting tasks related to hotel revenue. The Night Auditor will maintain accurate financial records, assist guests with their needs, complete the nightly RRA (Room Rate Analysis), prepare the flash report, conduct a night walk of the property, and ensure the hotel's operations run seamlessly during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service & Front Desk Operations:
Greet and assist guests with check-in/check-out procedures. Address and resolve any guest concerns, issues, or inquiries promptly and professionally. Provide exceptional customer service by offering information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions. Monitor guest arrivals and departures throughout the shift, ensuring all necessary accommodations are met.
Night Audit & Accounting Responsibilities:
Perform end-of-day procedures and ensure the correct balancing of all hotel revenue, including room charges, taxes, and additional guest services. Review and post guest charges, adjustments, and room rates in the hotel's Property Management System (PMS). Complete the nightly Room Rate Analysis (RRA) and ensure that room rates are in line with the hotel's pricing strategy. Prepare the flash report , summarizing all revenue from the hotel, including room revenue, food & beverage, and any other departmental revenue. Reconcile the cash drawers, credit card transactions, and check out guests at the close of business. Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and posted in a timely manner.
Safety and Security:
Perform a night walk of the hotel to ensure all areas are secure, including public spaces, back-of-house areas, and guest rooms. Report any safety or security concerns immediately to the appropriate department or manager. Ensure that the hotel's security procedures are followed during the overnight shift. Monitor CCTV systems and report any security concerns or incidents to the appropriate department.
Communication & Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with other departments, including housekeeping, maintenance, and management. Maintain a thorough understanding of hotel operations and share relevant information with the morning shift team. Report any unusual occurrences or issues to the Front Office Manager or other hotel management.
Miscellaneous:
Handle administrative duties as needed (filing, printing reports, and preparing guest folios). Ensure that the front desk area is kept neat and organized at all times. Assist with any other duties or special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in hospitality or related field preferred. Previous hotel or customer service experience preferred. Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) preferred. Experience with nightly room rate analysis (RRA) and revenue reports is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work the overnight shift (typically 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM). Basic accounting skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word). Must be able to handle cash and credit card transactions securely. Ability to maintain professionalism in stressful situations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to stand or sit for long periods during the shift. Must be able to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Apply for this Position Apply with Indeed
