Casual Night Audit Great for an online college student or night owl!
Shift:
10:00 PM - 6:00 AM Position Summary This casual position will be scheduled the overnight 10:00 PM-6:00 AM Night Audit shift, based on hotel scheduling needs. The role is responsible for guest services, as well as balancing and closing the previous business day and completing daily financial reports. This position requires working independently during overnight hours, including showing sound judgment in making independent decisions and ensuring security protocols are followed. During the Night Audit shift, the associate serves as the sole on-site team member and must be comfortable managing unexpected situations calmly and professionally. Associates are expected to assist guests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner while maintaining high standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction. Guest Services Responsibilities Anticipates and responds to guests in a friendly and positive manner. Responsible for providing the highest level of service. Processes check-ins and check-outs, verifies billing, creates reservations, and handles special requests. Assists guests by maintaining knowledge of hotel property, local attractions, and hours of operation of hotel outlets and services. Able to work independently or as part of a team to meet guest needs, and actively contributes to the efforts of other departments when necessary. Follows proper selling techniques and strategies to maximize room revenues. Monitors room availability and adheres to all booking policies and procedures. Drives sales and maximizes revenue by up-selling rooms and amenities. Night Audit & Financial Responsibilities Accurately balances all revenue sources and completes daily financial reports. Processes no-show reservations and prepares financial reports for managerial review. Closes the financial day for the hotel. Handles cash transactions accurately, including cash payments and petty cash; maintains a balanced cash drawer throughout the shift. During slower overnight periods, assists with maintaining a tidy lobby and work areas, restocking supplies, and completing assigned projects. Operational Responsibilities Responsible for proper use of all equipment; adheres to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste. Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing duties. Maintains a clean and safe work area in compliance with brand, local, state, and federal regulations. Follows all procedures for guest and associate incidents; knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures. Competencies & Skills Required Prior guest service experience required, preferably in a hospitality setting. Prior night audit or accounting experience preferred; cash handling experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel property management systems; ability to learn new software quickly. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to perform job duties in a fast-paced environment. Must be comfortable as the sole on-site associate during overnight hours and able to respond calmly to unexpected situations.
EVERY OTHER WEEKEND AVAILABILITY REQUIRED.
Education High school diploma or GED required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis. Must be able to stand for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to move throughout the hotel property as needed. Ability to type accurately and use proper phone protocols.
