This role offers an exciting opportunity to blend hospitality with financial oversight, providing essential audit functions and safeguarding our financial integrity during the night shift. You will be responsible for verifying daily financial transactions, preparing detailed reports, and maintaining compliance with industry standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act). Your energetic approach and meticulous analysis skills will contribute to delivering exceptional guest experiences while upholding the highest standards of financial management. Duties Conduct nightly audits of all financial transactions, including revenue, expenses, and cash handling, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Reconcile daily reports from various departments using advanced accounting software and general ledger systems. Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including summaries of revenue, occupancy statistics, and variances for management review. Verify adherence to regulatory reporting requirements and internal controls aligned with COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations) frameworks. Assist in internal audits by reviewing compliance with SOX controls, GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards), and other regulatory standards. Monitor hotel cash flow and perform risk management assessments to identify potential discrepancies or fraud indicators. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure proper recording of transactions in accordance with GAAP and governmental accounting standards. Support tax-related processes by ensuring accurate documentation for tax filings and compliance purposes. Maintain detailed records of audit procedures, findings, and corrective actions taken during the shift. Experience Proven experience in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, or public accounting environments with a focus on financial analysis or auditing. Strong understanding of financial concepts such as internal controls, risk management, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting standards. Familiarity with accounting software platforms and financial management tools used in hospitality or related industries. Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements, COSO frameworks, GAAS auditing standards, and regulatory reporting procedures. Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Experience working with general ledger accounting systems and performing internal audits is highly desirable. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently during overnight hours.
