Payroll / Human Resources Position Summary Cattelya LLC is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to independently manage day-to-day payroll operations while providing light HR administrative support. Payroll is the primary focus of this position. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of hands-on payroll experience and strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now/ADP Workforce Cloud. This individual must be able to manage payroll from start to finish, identify and resolve payroll issues, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate payroll records. The Payroll Manager must be an independent, accountable professional who can work with minimal supervision while keeping leadership Executive Team informed of important payroll updates, discrepancies, and concerns. Key Payroll Responsibilities Manage weekly and/or biweekly payroll from start to finish. Process payroll using ADP Workforce Now/ADP Workforce Cloud . Review timecards, hours, overtime, PTO, mileage/reimbursements, deductions, and adjustments. Identify and correct missing punches, incorrect hours, duplicate payments, and payroll discrepancies. Review payroll previews and reconcile payroll before submission. Process payroll corrections, adjustments, and off-cycle payments. Manage payroll-related new hires, terminations, pay-rate changes, direct deposits, and employee status changes. Respond to employee questions regarding pay, W-2s, tax withholding, deductions, PTO, and direct deposit. Prepare payroll and overtime reports for management. Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation. Communicate payroll updates, discrepancies, unusual activity, and concerns to leadership and accounting. Escalate matters requiring management or accounting review in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with applicable federal and Connecticut payroll and wage-and-hour requirements. Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information. ADP Workforce Now Experience Required Candidates must have strong hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now/ADP Workforce Cloud , including: Payroll processing and payroll worksheets Time & Attendance and timecard corrections Payroll previews and reports Earnings, deductions, and adjustments Off-cycle and corrected payroll Direct deposit and tax withholding New hires, terminations, and employee changes Payroll discrepancy research and resolution Candidates must be able to independently navigate ADP and troubleshoot payroll issues—not simply enter payroll data. Light HR Administrative Support Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding. Maintain personnel files and employee documentation. Assist with I-9, W-4, and other employment documentation. Track employee certifications and required records. Assist with personnel-file audits and employment verifications. Provide general HR administrative support as needed. Required Qualifications 4+ years of hands-on payroll experience. Strong experience with ADP Workforce Now/ADP Workforce Cloud. Experience independently managing payroll from start to finish. Knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, overtime, wage-and-hour requirements, and payroll compliance. Experience researching and resolving payroll discrepancies. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent organization, communication, and follow-through. Ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and meet payroll deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively with leadership, accounting, employees, and team members. Ability to handle confidential information professionally. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Connecticut payroll and employment requirements. Experience with small or mid-sized organizations. Basic HR and onboarding experience. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. CPP, FPC, SHRM-CP, PHR, or ADP training/certification is a plus.
