Payroll Manager Lorien Health Services Ellicott City, MD | Hybrid Schedule Join Lorien Health Services as Our Payroll Manager Lorien Health Services, a leading provider of skilled nursing, rehab and assisted living throughout central Maryland, is seeking an experienced and motivated Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations from our Corporate Office in Ellicott City, Maryland. We are seeking a Payroll Manager who will lead payroll operations and ensure every employee is paid accurately and on time. Benefits & Perks Hybrid work schedule based out of our Ellicott City Corporate Office available after 90 days Competitive salary: $90,000 - $98,000 / annually , based on experience Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance HRA and FSA Paid Time Off (PTO) - Vacation, Sick and Holiday 401(k) Retirement Plan with 50% match, up to 4% for eligible employees Tuition Assistance Free parking at all Lorien communities and corporate offices Employee discount programs and wellness initiatives Professional development and career growth opportunities within a growing healthcare organization Key Responsibilities Payroll Leadership & Operations Lead the daily operations of the Payroll Department, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing Manage payroll processing for a large, multi-location healthcare workforce, including regular payrolls, off-cycle payments, adjustments, and special payroll runs Ensure payroll activities comply with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and payroll regulations Partner with community HR and corporate HR / Accounting teams Compliance & Reporting Oversee payroll audits, reconciliations, and payroll tax reporting Maintain compliance with applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and organizational policies Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and complex payroll issues Prepare payroll reports, workforce analytics, and ad hoc reporting requests for leadership Process Improvement & Systems Management Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency Maintain payroll policies, procedures, and standard operating documentation Support payroll system upgrades, testing initiatives, implementations, and enhancements Partner with Human Resources, Finance, Operations, and external vendors to ensure payroll accuracy and service excellence System administrator for UKG Qualifications Required Minimum of 5 years of progressive payroll experience Knowledge of PBJ reporting At least 2 years of payroll leadership or supervisory experience Experience processing payroll in a multi-entity or multi-site environment Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Teams, and HRIS systems Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Strong communication and leadership abilities Preferred Experience with UKG, heavily preferred Healthcare, senior living, long-term care, or multi-location payroll experience CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification Strong HR background, a plus About Lorien Health Services Lorien Health Services is a Maryland-based healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, and memory care services.
