Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Corporate Payroll Manager to join a reputable and leading organization with corporate headquarters in Sacramento. Our client offers a hybrid schedule, excellent benefits and a collaborative leadership team. The Corporate Payroll Manager will oversee the payroll lifecycle, ensure accurate financial records, payroll compliance, and efficient financial processes, while also manage and develop the payroll team. The ideal candidate brings solid experience managing high-volume, in-house payroll at corporate level for a company size of 500+ employees, strong technical expertise in payroll and reporting systems, and proven ability to partner effectively with executive leadership.
Compensation:
$135,000-$155,000 DOE + bonus.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and execute accurate and timely processing of payroll, including salaries, benefits, commission, taxes, and deductions.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.

Maintain accurate payroll records.

Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholding, deductions, and benefits.

Manage year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation.

SME for payroll software and systems.

Prepare and analyze payroll reports. Supervise and mentor payroll staff, providing guidance and support.

Coordinate with HR on employee data changes, new hires, terminations, and promotions.

Conduct payroll staff performance evaluations and provide feedback.

Oversee payroll reconciliations, reporting, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Participate in audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.

Collaborate with other departments, such as HR and finance.

Continuously seek opportunities to improve payroll processes and systems.

Stay updated on payroll legislation and best practices.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration highly preferred. Payroll certification is a plus. 5+ years of experience in end-to-end payroll and payroll reporting at Corporate HQ level.3+ years of experience in payroll management for company size of 500-1000+ employees.

Strong understanding of payroll regulations.

Advance in current payroll software/systems (Dayforce a plus).Strong leadership and management skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
