This role is ideal for someone with a solid payroll background who is ready to take on greater ownership, act as a go-to point of contact for payroll and timekeeping matters and support the wider team in a fast-paced staffing environment. Reporting into the Payroll & Operations Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day payroll processing and compliance activities for the Boston business, acting as a senior resource within the team, supporting less experienced colleagues, and helping to drive continuous improvement across payroll and operational processes. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of high-volume bi-weekly payroll processing through ADP. Verify timekeeping records and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable Federal and Local State wage and hour regulations. Act as a senior point of contact for Boston timekeeping and payroll-related queries, resolving more complex issues and escalating to the Payroll & Operations Manager where required. Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across payroll and operational workflows. Maintain records in timesheet and compliance systems, supporting the transition to and adoption of new integrated platforms. Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot urgent or time-sensitive operational issues. Support the Payroll & Operations Manager with operational and payroll reporting, providing insights and recommendations for senior management. Contribute to general office operations, including supply ordering, vendor coordination, and ad hoc administrative support. Support other operational initiatives and special projects as required. About You A bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred. Prior payroll and finance experience required, ideally within the staffing, recruitment, or professional services sector. Working knowledge of Federal and Local payroll regulations and wage and hour compliance requirements to include prevailing wage. Experience with ADP required; experience with Bullhorn, Sage, RSM InTime, or similar platforms is highly desirable. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and support or guide less experienced team members. Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and exceptional service delivery. Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently across teams and with external stakeholders. Able to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous.
