Primary Purpose:
Direct and manage all payroll operations of the district. Develop, implement, and continuously improve payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure timely, accurate processing of payroll and all associated benefits and deductions. Lead a multi-person payroll team and ensure full compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations and reporting standards.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in business-related field or educational administration preferred High School degree required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, rules, and reporting requirements relating to payroll Knowledge of governmental accounting, auditing standards, and internal control principles Effective communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with executive staff, campus administrators, auditors, and employees at all levels Ability to analyze complex payroll data sets, identify discrepancies, and design scalable process controls for a high-volume payroll operation Proficiency with spreadsheets and payroll software; ability to work with large data volumes accurately and efficiently Ability to recruit, train, supervise and evaluate personnel of multiple staff members
Experience:
Five years of payroll experience at a high level of responsibility in a public sector or school district preferred Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory role Hutto ISD Talent Management & Personnel Support Hutto ISD Pay Scales & Start Stop Calendar
